I am confused at whether this requires a ‘Like’ or not. For now, I’ll skip that part.

Also, the problem (as I think) lies not in Sharmila’s fasting but because Center’s backing of the ASFPA. As far as the ruling ideology doesn’t compliment with Sharmila’s cause, the government shall stay indifferent. That’s the reason why the fast is still continuing. Else, how would you justify Anna’s success and Sharmila’s struggle?
