“Minds below margins are not marginal minds”- this quote has had a profound impact on my thought process. India is a great country with the demographic dividend at its advantage which makes it the youngest country in the ageing world. The platform is all set for an upsurge. This means that the earning population will be broadened as such – to meet the transforming equations. The educational infrastructure needs to undergo a fast track change. The entrepreneurial endeavor needs revival on the other side of the spectrum.
The question is how to make every head count? We need a pragmatic shift in the way we see the demographic dynamics. It’s more of human capital at disposal so the policy makers would have to do some out-of-box strategic thinking and planning to leverage this – otherwise it may turn out to be a disaster. The skill of people should be made to blossom in totality. The passion should manifest in the work it should be expression of joy rather than a routine exercise.
It’s high time to initiate new educational institution formation to generate meaningful skilled human capital and powerful critical mass. New universities and institution of higher learning need to be devised and adopted at a scale that can serve the need of a massive liberalization with high standard and quality control that has a local outlook but global outreach. The future of the nation lies in diversity of people from which new entrepreneurial initiatives can emerge and take pivotal role in job actualization and self respect and realization.
The corporate responsibility becomes evident and they need to act as a philanthropists and catalyst in the renaissance of new India. The odyssey through the unchartered territory from being to becoming a holistically sustainable and stabilized developed economy needs to get accelerated by mass participation of every citizen. Let’s be the change that we want to see around. Let the head be held high and participate in churning nectar from the ocean of opportunities.
