Acer’s New Android Liquid Metal: Features And Video

By Manik Kakra:

Around a week back, Acer announced the launch of yet another Android powered smartphone — Acer Liquid Metal, at a street price of Rs. 20,900. The phone runs on Android 2.2 Froyo version but any Gingerbread update is not confirmed as yet. The phone’s User Interface (UI) is topped with Acer’s own Breeze 4.0.

The new Acer Liquid Metal has a 3.6-inch LCD capacitive touchscreen that offers 480×800 pixel resolution which seems promising for multimedia playback. Under the hood there is a second generation Qualcomm Snapdragon processor clocked at 800MHz coupled with powerful Adreno 205 GPU for even better graphics support. Along with this there is 512 MB of RAM and support for Micro SD card upto 32 GB storage. The phone packs a 1500 mAH battery ( not sure how long it will survive with that screen and apps).

On the rear there is a 5 megapixel camera with auto focus and LED Flash. The camera can shoot video at 720p. For connectivity there are usual options of Wi-fi, Bluetooth (with A2DP), USB 2.0 and 3G capabilities. Overall this seems a stunning looking phone with some good inside qualities.
