Annual Youth Citizenship Festival 2010-11

‘Mahiti Adhikar Gujarat Pahel’ (MAGP), ‘The Difference’ and ‘Centre for Social Justice’ (CSJ) are jointly organizing the ‘Annual Youth Citizenship Festival 2011-2012’ succeeding the ‘Annual RTI Youth Festival 2010-2011’.

The ‘Annual RTI Youth Festival 2010-2011’ was organized mainly to raise awareness amongst Youth on the Right to Information Act in the form of an Essay competition.

This year, through the ‘Annual Youth Citizenship Festival 2011-2012’ we are aiming to initiate a process of social consciousness on the broad topic of Youth citizenship with sub-themes such as the Constitution of India, responsibility of youth towards nation building & social change and so on.

Under this festival, there are 3 open competitions :

1) Essay competition on the themes of ‘Youth and India’, ‘Youth and
Democracy’ and ‘The Right to Information Act’.
2) Photography competition on theme ‘Change’.
3) Video making competition on theme ‘Change’.

We hope to get your support by sharing with as many people you can in taking the cause ahead and making this festival a grand success.

1.     ESSAY COMPETITION:

Terms and Conditions: – Submit your entries on any 1 of the following topics: 1) YOUTH AND INDIA 2) YOUTH AND DEMOCRACY 3) RIGHT TO INFORMATION ACT – Entries must be original and not copied – Essays should be between 500 to 1000 words – Languages: English, Hindi and Gujarati – Submit the entries along with your - 1) Full name 2) Address 3) Phone no. 4) Email ID 5) A recent photograph – Mail your entries to ‘youthfestindia@gmail.com’ or post / hand deliver them to ‘Annual Youth Citizenship Festival 2011-12, C/O MAGP, B-3, Sahajanand tower, Jivraj Park crossroads, Ahmedabad — 380051’ – The entries can be computerized or hand-written – On all disputes, the decision of the jury will be final – Prize money: 1st prize: Rs. 3000, 2nd prize: Rs. 2000, 3rd prize: Rs 1000 - Submitting your essays for the competition indicates acceptance that the entries will be part of the ‘Annual Youth Citizenship Festival 2011-12’ and the organizers have the right to use them for promotional purposes. However, these entries will not be used commercially – The prize distribution ceremony will be organized as part of a cultural event and the winners will be notified about the same

2.     PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION

Terms and Conditions: – The theme of the competition is: “CHANGE” – Entries submitted must beoriginal and not copied - A maximum of 3 entries will be accepted from each participant – Submit all entries along with your: 1) Full name 2) Address 3) Phone no. 4) Email ID 5) A recent photograph – If you wish, you can write a short description about the photo, but it is not compulsory – Mail your entries to ‘youthfestindia@gmail.com’  or post / hand deliver them to‘Annual Youth Citizenship Festival 2011-12, C/O MAGP, B-3, Sahajanand tower, Jivraj Park crossroads, Ahmedabad — 380051’ – If you are sending your entries through post or are hand delivering them, send a CD of the photographs in JPEG format or you can send the printsof the photographs of any size - All photos including those clicked with a mobile phone will be accepted. Entries will not be judged on the basis of the quality of the camera – Photographs once submitted cannot be withdrawn – Submitting photographs for the competition indicates acceptance that the entries will be part of the ‘Annual Youth Citizenship Festival 2011-12’ and the organizers have the right to use them for promotional purposes. However, these entries will not be used commercially. Please do not submit entries if you want to hold on to copyrights – Photographs will be judged on the basis of participant’s perception, creativity and its relevance to theme -The decision of the jury will be final - Prize money: 1st prize: Rs. 3000, 2nd prize: Rs. 2000, 3rd prize: Rs 1000 - The prize distribution ceremony will be organized as part of a cultural event and the winners will be notified about the same

3.     VIDEO COMPETITION

Terms and Conditions: – The theme of the competition is: “CHANGE” – Entries submitted must beoriginal and not copied - A maximum of 3 entries will be accepted from each participant – The duration of the video should not be less than 10 seconds and more than 30 minutes- All videos including those shot with a mobile phone will be accepted. Entries will not be judged on the basis of the quality of the camera – Submit the entries with your: 1) Full name 2) Address 3) Phone no. 4) Email ID 5) A recent photograph – If you wish, you can write a short description about the video, but it is not compulsory – Mail your entries to ‘youthfestindia@gmail.com’  or post / hand deliver them to ‘Annual Youth Citizenship Festival 2011-12, C/O MAGP, B-3, Sahajanand tower, Jivraj Park crossroads, Ahmedabad – 380051’ or visit www.facebook.com/thedifferencefb for online submission details - If you are sending your entries through post or are hand delivering them, send a CD of the video(s) – Videos once submitted cannot be withdrawn – Submitting Videos for the competition indicates acceptance that the entries will be part of the ‘Annual Youth Citizenship Festival 2011-12’ and the organizers have the right to use them for screenings or for promotional purposes. However, these entries will not be used commercially and the credit will be given to the film-maker – Videos will be judged on the basis of participant’s perception, creativity and its relevance to theme – The decision of the jury will be final - Prize money: 1st prize: Rs. 3000, 2nd prize: Rs. 2000, 3rd prize: Rs. 1000 – The prize distribution ceremony will be organized as part of a cultural event and the winners will be notified about the same
