The Annual Cultural Festival of Lady Shri Ram College for Women, Tarang, in collaboration with Nano 2012, will be held on the 3rd, 4th and 5th of February 2012. Known to attract the best student talent from across the university, Tarang is all set to take things to a greater level this year. Dedicated to the celebration of creativity, the theme for this year is the Life and Works of Rabindranath Tagore, in order to commemorate the Nobel Laureate’s 150th Birth Anniversary.
With competitions in the field of dramatics, dance, film and photography, music, debating and creative writing, and informal events with a quirky twist, Tarang promises to be an unforgettable event. The professional rock show, the Stand Up Comedy show, the much awaited DJ Night and the Food Fest have definitely upped the fun quotient of the fest. The tittle sponsors for the fest, Nano 2012 have also planned fun activities for the visitors, with provisions to test drive the dynamic new Nano and win some exciting prizes. There’s more! Participants get an opportunity to display their skills and works towards saving the planet with the ‘fun with junk’ competition, organised by the environment society of LSR, Prakriti. This is the first time that LSR will be conducting a full energy audit of the fest and strive to make itself as green as the famous gardens of the college are.
With a website, an attractive promo video, and an ever growing fan base on Facebook, Twitter and its blog, Tarang has not only touched and surpassed past benchmarks but created new milestones for the years to come. Remember, entry is by pass only. Those participating can register at the gate and will not need any passes.
The event will begin with an opening ceremony on 2nd Feb, an in house event celebrating the legend – Rabindranath Tagore. This will follow a Tagore exhibition on all 3 days of the fest.
The fest will also have informal events such as crossword, treasure hunt, improvise, LSR’s – minute to win it. Also, a lot of performances will follow – near the food fest area.
