Subject: Congratulating for outstanding performance at international level.

Dear Virat,

I am writing you this letter to congratulate you for your outstanding performance at international level in ODIs. It is purely because of your hard work and dedication that you have accelerated to world no. 3 ranking in the ICC rankings table.

I am a great fan of yours and have been following your cricket ever since you made our country proud by winning the Under-19 Cricket World Cup. And since then, you never looked back. Right from making your cricket debut 4 years back to becoming the fastest cricketer in the world to score 10 ODI centuries, there is no second thought in my mind that you are going to be among the greatest batsmen of all time in cricket history when you retire.

With your recent knock of 183 against Pakistan, you proved why you are the greatest 23-year old cricketer today in the world. But, I have just one issue that I feel you can look upon to improve. After every century, the way you express your feelings is highly talked about. More often than not, you have been seen swearing after you complete your century, and this gesture of yours has been greatly discussed in the newspapers and news channels. Even though, majority of the youth look at it as just an attitude of a successful young cricketer, some consider it as immature and disrespectful. For instance, when Sachin Tendulkar or Rahul Dravid has scored a century, they were never seen flinging expletive at the opposite team or display aggressive feelings. I feel that is the only reason why critics have formed their negative opinions against you.

Keeping that apart, no one can ever question your capability and talent. It won’t be long when we would get to see Virat Kohli at the number 1 spot in the ICC rankings table. I wish you all the success in life. Keep working hard and continue to play well, thereby making India proud.

With regards
Indian cricket fan
