The Tedious Battle Against Cancer: Have We Finally Won?

According to WHO “cancer is a generic term for a large group of diseases that can affect any part of the body. One defining feature of cancer is the rapid creation of abnormal cells that grow beyond their usual boundaries, and which can then invade adjoining parts of the body and spread to other organs”. Statistics show that cancer is one of the leading causes of death (12.6 million diagnosed every year) proceeded only by heart diseases. Cancer was accounted for 7.6 million deaths (13% of all deaths) in 2008.

Scientists have long been researching to find a cure strong enough to win the battle against cancer, and they might have finally stumbled upon it. In 1976 National Cancer Institute conducted a series of research on featuring the Guanabana/Soursop tree native to Mexico, Central and northern South America, which was rumoured to have cancer healing properties. The results were startling. Tests using samples from various parts of the tree proved that the leaves and stem of the same are highly efficient in eliminating cancer cells in the human body, attacking only the cancerous cells leaving the non-cancerous cells undamaged. This means that the patient might be spared of all the side effects of the chemotherapy treatment that one has to undergo in order to fight this disease, i.e., by using the guanabana treatment one can avoid nausea and drastic weight and hair loss.
The following are the positive effects of Guanabana fruit on cancer:

– Strikes at cancer safely and effectively, using all-natural therapy with no adverse side-effects (such as nausea, weight and hair loss as seen with traditional chemotherapy treatment).
– Guards the body’s immune system against harmful infections.
– Throughout treatment with guanabana extract, patients felt stronger and healthier.
– Aims and destroys cancer cells in 12 different types of cancer including:
o Colon cancer
o Breast cancer
o Prostate cancer
o Lung cancer
o Pancreatic cancer

– The compounds found in the guanabana tree have been proven 10,000-times stronger than Adriamycin, a strong chemotherapy drug used to slow the growth of malignant cells.

There have been over 20 different laboratory tests that have proved the efficiency of guanabana plant to fight against cancer, though few more tests need to be done before the anti-cancer abilities are put to test on actual humans in hospital settings.

If the guanabana cancer treatment does happen to be a success we could finally realise our dream of winning the war against cancer. But till then what do we do? What can we do to save ourselves from becoming the bait of this monstrous disease? William Li head of Angiogenesis Foundation gives us the answers. In his talk William provides us with a new way of preventing the disease by his method of ‘eating to starve cancer’. According to him eating anti-cancer/cancer fighting food one can reduce the risk of cancer. These include Vitamin E, tea (selected kind), turmeric, red grapes, etc, among a list of others.

We have long heard the proverb that ‘prevention is better than cure’ and now is a good time to start on it before it is too late.
