YKA Campaign – “Milaap: Time For You To Loan A Little And Change A Lot”

“Since you get more joy out of giving joy to others, you should put a good deal of thought into the happiness that you are able to give”.     -Eleanor Roosevelt

When we talk about the life span that we have been granted, we know deep within, that it’s too short to do everything we have always wanted to do, to spread so many smiles and collect all the happiness, to see success in others and feel successful in self.

So the time is now. It’s time to Stop Talking and Start Acting. And it’s time to spread success around you. MILAAP believes that the time has come, and without wasting a single second, they are here, with the sole motive of helping millions out there.

Milaap is an online platform (http://www.milaap.org/) that enables you to lend to India’s working poor so they can get access to education, clean water, energy and more. And when they say “lend”, they definitely mean a loan. You are not giving a donation, but a loan which you shall be getting back, once the borrower repays the amount. By giving even a small loan, you will be helping a large number of people who have taken a step to make life better in spite of their difficult situation. A loan will give them a hand up while encouraging them to be judicious and enterprising.

The idea behind Milaap is to combine the internet and human intent to create sustainable social change. The best thought behind this initiative making it very different, is the fact that once your loan money is repaid, you can lend it to another borrower, thereby continuing the cycle of change.

By visiting the fundraising page of Youth Ki Awaaz here, you can lend money to three entrepreneurs and touch their lives. We are very inspired by entrepreneurship. Youth Ki Awaaz, understands the importance of creating and leading young entrepreneurs and nurturing them. This campaign is our way of supporting the eco-system where young Indians get a chance to become job creators and leaders in their own right. We want to give three hopeful and energetic youth a chance at the kind of life they deserve.

One of the three budding entrepreneurs is Berraya:

“21 year old Berraya hails from Venkatapura, Bangalore. He works as a helper in Ashraya, a self help group, earning Rs.3500 per month. On behalf of his group, he needs a loan of Rs. 35,000 so that they can buy more machinery and raw materials to produce more natural fibre goods”

100% of your loan will reach the borrowers. So move on, bring out the change maker within you. Visit our fundraising page to Loan a Little and Change a Lot
