Why Foreign Direct Investment In India Gets My Vote #Speed Views

By Sumedha Bharpilania:

Foreign Direct Investment, in my arrogant opinion is the need of the hour. It amazes me how hypocrisy runs in the blood of those who have a say in important matters, so much so that the same party which once proposed the entry of FDI into the country, is opposing it because that’s what they are: the opposition.

We keep talking about how a nation like ours cannot afford to waste food, why do we then have a problem with the entry of FDI in retail when it only seeks to reduce the wastage of the same? The opposing ministers talk about how farmers would lose all their power with the entry of the monster called FDI, but dear Mister Minister, when was it that the poor farmers actually had power? FDI will only help in maintaining the quality of goods, will cater to the need for variety, prices will be low and real-estate shall benefit. Also, there is no dearth of manual labour as far as India is concerned; it will only help in curbing the rising unemployment. What we need to do away with is petty party politics and work on making our country a prosperous one. Otherwise, India shall never shine; it will be lost somewhere in the dark, never to emerge.
