#Merry Christmas, #TheekHai: #Twitter Trends

By Shivangi Singh:

Winters, Cakes, Prayers-It’s that tome of the year again! ‘Merry Christmas’ was the wish doing rounds on our favorite microblogging website. Here’s a sneak-peek into some select ones:

Justin Beiber– “spending time surrounded by friends & family. its the holidays. a time for love & giving back! no one can take that away. MERRY CHRISTMAS!”

@rohit_bhat– “If a person has his birthday today, do you wish him happy birthday or merry Christmas first?”

@edwardedark– “there is no Merry Christmas in #Syria, and most certainly not a happy new year”

@latikambourke– “Merry Christmas Twitter. May you be blessed with felines and eat and drink lots of excellent champagne but please, above all be safe. Lxx

@BrandoGoldhecht– “Help somebody out whenever you see someone struggling….Merry Christmas to all”

One point to be noted when you’re living in the cyber age is that if you goof-up in a public speech Twitterati won’t go easy on you, even if you are the PM of India. ‘#TheekHai’ made an interesting trend:

Chetan Bhagat– “Madam, madam sorry madam, maine aise hi pooch liya #theekhai? Aage se will stick to the script. Theek hai? Oops madam, sorry..hello? hello?”

@amishra77“Think about this: the man charged with India’s security till May 2012, Gen VK Singh, is today charged with inciting riots. #TheekHai

Karan Johar– “Silence is truly golden if the spoken word is rusted and needs drastic polishing!!! #theekhai

Suhel Seth– “Here’s wishing all of you a Theek Hai Merry Christmas and an even more Theek Hai 2013! #TheekHai?”

@riya043– “That #theekhai hurt more than all the lathis and tear gas n water cannons..”
