Prestigious International Centre For Journalists Announces Two Journalism Scholarships #Opportunity

New Delhi: The Washington D.C. based International Centre for Journalists (www.icfj.org) has announced two journalism scholarships for students to pursue the PG Diploma in Applied Journalism and Media Communication at 9.9 School of Communication (9.9 SoC).

The 11-month Applied Journalism programme at 9.9 SoC teaches students the ins and outs of writing news stories, how to shoot and edit video using high-end cameras and final cut pro editing software, and the details of producing professional-quality online news.

Students receive hands-on training in all three mediums — print, TV and online — and graduate as completely converged, multi-media journalists. A three-month internship integrated into the program assures a fully-groomed professional.

9.9 SoC Associate Dean, Gunjan Aggarwal, said: “We are really excited to receive the two scholarships from ICFJ. It will help the J-school reach out to really deserving students in India and Bhutan. ICFJ is committed to advancing quality journalism worldwide. This is another step towards establishing a globally recognised journalism school right here in India.”

ICFJ’s Vice President of New Initiatives, Sharon Moshavi, said: “The International Center for Journalists is delighted to partner with the 9.9 School of Communication to give students the tools they need to become leaders in a world of converging media. The scholarships will expose international students to quality journalism. And the hands-on experience they gain in newsrooms will prepare them for jobs in broadcast and online media.”
