“It’s A Good Life” created by Black Ticket Films tells the story of how one farmer in India changed his fortunes by switching from chemical to organic agriculture. His life took a complete turn for the good once he took the road towards organic farming. This video shows his journey and undoubtedly,  his prosperity is an example of what India dreams about. A healthy and very prosperous farmer who can inspire many others to change. The simplicity in this five minute video speaks volumes about agriculture in India.

I appreciate your effort in bringing to light the benefits some farmers have received by converting to organic farming. But, I believe that to point an audience in a direction without concrete data would be misleading. Why is that 99% plus farmers are not growing their crops organically? Will the national yield suffer? Did the co-operative support these farmers financially by providing cheap loans which allowed them to improve profitability and build houses? More importantly, does the cooperative market its product as organic into upper segments of the market?

Hi Akshat – thanks for having a look at the film! As much as it’s important to have all sorts of information communicated via a film, it sometimes becomes next to impossible to include everything when operating in the short film genre. However, all your questions have been pretty comprehensively answered in ‘Timbaktu, which is a longer film that details out the work done by the Timbaktu Collective.
Hope this helps!
Cheers!
