This debate concerns subsidies in general, but in particular are a response to huge subsidy promises made by the recent AAP government in Delhi. Almost every government/party in India promised/promises huge subsidies, sometimes impractical ones. AAP recently cut-off 50% in power tariff and free water, but the question that arises is that aren’t these subsidies provided for by our own money(given as taxes), which proves the illusion made by parties banking on populist, anarchic votes.
