By Mayank Jain:

1. Black flag for Arvind Kejriwal: Arvind Kejriwal never stays too far away from controversy. His latest rally has again put him in limelight, this time for jeers instead of cheers. He was rallying for a candidate from Faridabad when he was greeted with black flags by the residents protesting against his quitting early and failure to keep his promises. He went on with the rally, though and voiced anger against corruption in the state.

2. Jaswant Singh miffed at BJP, M. J. Akbar joins the party:

BJP is turning out to be the most interesting party of all time with daily shuffles and stacking. Veteran leader, Jaswant Singh has been denied Barmer Lok Sabha ticket on Friday. He lashed out saying there is a real BJP and a fake one and people should differentiate among the two. On the other hand, noted journalist and author M.J. Akbar has joined the party with much enthusiasm.

3. Survey predicts 30% candidates from BJP and Congress face criminal charges: National Election Watch and Association of Democratic Reforms’ survey reveals that one of every 3 candidates fielded by the two major national parties, Congress and BJP have criminal cases pending against them. 35 per cent of the BJP’s candidates face criminal charges, of them 17 percent are serious charges. Meanwhile, 27 per cent of Congress’ candidates face criminal charges, with 10 per cent facing serious charges.

4. TMC comes out with manifesto, mocks AAP:

Trinamool Congress, led by Mamata Banerjee has launched the party’s manifesto ahead of the polls. At the event, she took an apparent jibe at Arvind Kejriwal’s fundraising dinner in Bangalore in the following words: “Nowadays, people are even taking money for lunch and dinner. There are different prices for different seats. If you sit in front you pay more… maybe they had different prices for vegetarian and non-vegetarian food, different rates for plain water and coloured water.”
