Thousands Of People Will March For Something That Concerns All Of Us, Will You Be There?

By Anshika Srivastava:

History is proof of what millions of us can do when we come together as one, and this is one such moment, where all of us — students, elders, and even different communities have to join hands. This time, it’s to save ourselves, our futures and the future of mankind.

Climate Change has been a burning issue since decades, but it has not been the priority in our lives. Driven by notions of development and GDP growth, we have completely forgotten that our existence is crucially dependent on the environment, and not some numbers on an economic chart.

Scientists and researchers all over the globe have conceded to the fact that Climate Change is not a myth , some great horror that would strike us thousand years later. Its happening now, and at a much faster rate than we can fathom!

The changing weather patterns, increased instances of floods, like the one in Kashmir, are all a consequence of climate change, and its going to get worse. All of us are responsible for causing climate change, but sadly. the impact is unevenly distributed.

No leader will save you tomorrow, if we stay quiet today! It’s not about saving the earth, but systems that enable human existence. We are standing for justice, equality and freedom for all that is greatly interlinked with a healthy and stable environment, free from the impact of climate change.

On 20th and 21st of September, 2014,  people all over the world are unifying for probably the biggest moment in the history of mankind. With our future at stake and the whole world watching, we’ll take a stand to bend the course of history. Many of us have made the choice. On 20th September, thousands of people will gather in Delhi to participate in the march to show the world that we care, and to remind the leaders of the power of global solidarity.

Where will you be?
