[Y]ral: After Putting Up With Months Of Online Abuse, This Girl Decided To ‘Shame The Creeps’

By Sanskriti Pandey

Taking cue from bold and resolute Prerna, who last week called out her online harasser Raushan Kumar in public to urge a change in how lewd messages are received over the internet, Jasleen Kaur decided to follow in her footsteps. When a man who was sexually harassing her online for months toed the line, Jasleen, an educator, had had it. Prerna’s Facebook story got her to decide to shame her perpetrator in public as well and speak up about the issue, while she also felt the need to add and stress on a fact: it is not the receiver’s shame when they are harassed; the shame is the harasser’s!

Jasleen tells all the creeps out there to watch out as everyone is now going to fight back against cyber harassment over social media. Watch Jasleen’s narration of the incident in a video by The Quint, and her message to most of us that employ a wait-and-ignore attitude towards harassers behind screens: #ShameTheCreeps and #FreeYourMind.
