It DOES Matter If You’re Black Or White, Because Racism Is Real, Watch!

By Sanskriti Pandey:

The recent demonstrations in Baltimore protesting the killing of Freddie Gray have raised an important question that has been hiding behind a debatable sense of progress in recent times – is America truly a ‘post-racial‘ nation today?

If the US has indeed made progress in eliminating racism and encouraging equality, then the experiences of an average black person and an average white person in ordinary, everyday situations should be similar. This video tells you otherwise. ‘Brave New Films‘ explores eye-opening statistical evidence of an unequal society in America today in cleanly halved frames. Resumes with black-sounding names are 50% less likely to get a call back from employers, black people are charged roughly $700 higher than white people when buying cars, and black male teens are 21 times more likely to be killed by cops than their white counterparts, among others. “Something is wrong,” they say, “when we continue to NOT do anything about it.” Racism is Real – watch!
