[Y]Ral: Google’s Latest Ad Depicting A Mother-Daughter Relationship Will Melt Your Heart

By Sanskriti Pandey:

Remember how your mother dropped you to school when you were a scared, trembling child? Those were your first steps towards learning, and she nudged you on to your first interactions with the big, bad and beautiful world. Now that this world has a new dimension – that of the virtual space – wouldn’t you like her introduced to the possibilities of the internet?

A recent survey conducted by Google revealed that a whopping 49% of Indian women do not see any reason to access the internet. In other words, the possibilities of the world wide web have an enormous but unrealised potential in India. To promote digital literacy in women, Google India has launched an initiative alongside Snapdeal, Axis Bank, Hindustan Unilever Limited, and GlaxoSmithKline, consisting of awareness drives and workshops to be conducted across the country. Through their extensive campaign plans, they want to gift women the world of internet and bring all of them #TogetherOnline. Join the initiative, and help women get online.
