So turns out a lot many of you agree with us that ‘Music – On, World – Off’. Thrilled with the response we got when we asked you to share all that makes up your playlist – the groovy, the funk, the whack and the purely melodious, here is Pallavi’s #MyMondayPlaylist. Listen up!
So here is the thing about me – I get bored to easily. So, [envoke_twitter_link]when it comes to music, my playlist keeps getting refreshed[/envoke_twitter_link] as and when new discoveries are made by the more curious of my friends. What is weird is perhaps that more often than not, I actually end up liking the shared music. Naturally, the list here then is waiting to be played over and over again for a month and so, and then eventually rest in peace in my hard drive until I resurrect it again to create another playlist.
1) Josh Ritter – ‘The Curse’ (2010): Well, the music is simple enough but what makes this song stand out for me is its storyline. The song is actually a story of two lovers connected by history. How is it any different from the score of love-doves songs? See for yourself.
2) Coldplay – ‘Fix You’ (2005): I was wondering, what the first song was that people of my age would have heard of Coldplay, whose tracks continue colonise my playlist. There is Yellow, Paradise, The Scientist and the list goes on.
3) Shafqat Amanat Ali (Fuzon) – ‘Mora Saiyaa Mose Bole Na’ (2008): I can’t remember the first time that I bumped into this one, but I am glad I did. Amazingly, it is one of the few songs that continues to be constant with me. So, if you happen to check my playlist say in 2020, chances are that you will still find this track there.
4) The All-American Rejects – ‘Gives You Hell’ (2008): This is one of those things that I like for sure, but am not sure as to why I like them. Given my morbid taste in music, this is one of the few songs that brings a smile to my face. The video makes the song funnier somehow! I don’t know how, but it does!
5) Snow Patrol – ‘Chasing Cars’ (2006): Here is the truth. I heard this song for the first time last year in 2014!
6) Kaavish – ‘Nindiya Re’ (2011): Coke Studio has many gems to offer, and this is one of the recent ones I have been hooked to. I religiously play it every night like a lullaby rocking me to sleep gently.
7) Porcupine Tree – ‘Lazarus’ (2005): For some reason, every time I listen to this song, I get images of mountains and pine tree in my head.
FYI, I really had to pull up my recent playlist history for this and I already think the time has come to refresh my playlist.
