By Asmita Sarkar:

You have been working hard and you reward yourself with an expensive phone, in the next few years that’s not enough. You want a four wheel drive soon and in some more years, a massive house. But do you really need it?

The former President of Uruguay, José Mujica, considered to be the humblest and poorest world leader, in this video conveys an essential message about freedom, time and money. This man, who drives a 1987 Volkswagen Beetle, lives on a farm and donates 90% of his income to charity, in just 45 seconds, will tell you that the crisp green paper you have been spending is actually time, especially hours from your life, to acquire things you don’t need.

Is this really how you want to spend your freedom?

45 seconds of wisdom from José Mujica. This is a clip from the 3-part documentary HUMAN. Watch it here: http://www.filmsforaction.org/watch/human/
