As the most difficult trust building exercise one could devise, a lady in Idaho, U.S., stripped down to a bikini, blindfolded herself and held out markers for people to write on her body, in a market place.
A call to people who have suffered from self-esteem issues at some point in their lives, the social experiment was meant to get under the skin of the people around her, forcing them to pay attention to the fact that “all bodies are valuable”.
Every day we are surrounded by beautiful images of people, on T.V., hoardings, etc. and yet reality never seems to match up to those ideals. The multi-billion dollar beauty industry which thrives on this negative thought process, fueled by our unrealistic expectations, never seems to allow us to accept ourselves the way we are.
Perhaps it’s time for us to open our eyes.
