In Just 1 Minute, Let These Kids Tell You How To Actually Celebrate Diwali

By Ankita Mukhopadhyay:

On the occasion of Diwali, many of us are looking forward to bursting crackers. But do we know the impact it can have on the ears of our loved ones? And by loved ones here, I mean our beloved pets. Fireworks create 140 decibels of noise, severely affecting the hearing capability of dogs, who hear 4 times more than us! Dogs and cats are known to go into a state of panic when they just hear the sound of cars and trucks honking. Construction of a new subway platform in New York City has produced so much noise that dogs in the nearby area have started scratching at walls, becoming destructive in their own apartments. By bursting firecrackers we are not only subjecting ourselves to noise pollution, but we are also affecting the lives of others seriously.

This new ad shows how children are taking a small step towards making the festival an enjoyable one for those who can’t tell us that the noise of firecrackers is painful for them.
