This Tribute To A.R. Rahman By Music Group ‘Voctronica’ Will Leave You Thrilled!

By Lipi Mehta

There’s a slight chance you remember the 1993 film ‘Gentleman’ but there’s almost a sure chance you remember its iconic song, ‘Roop Suhana Lagta Hai‘. And what about ‘Roja Jaaneman‘ or ‘Aye Udi Udi Udi‘? You’re probably even humming these songs in your head because that’s the impact A. R. Rahman’s music has had on thousands across the country.

Voctronica, India’s first all-vocal orchestra (they don’t use any instruments), has just paid a wonderful tribute to Rahman in their latest video. Starting from the early ’90s and ending with a song from ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, a movie for which Rahman won an Oscar, these musicians chart the evolution of his work and in the process, chronicle how music has shaped along with its audiences in the last decade or more.

Watch it, and then watch it again. (P.S. If you are in need of a pick-me-up, I strongly recommend you play this on loud and add some cheer to your day!)
