Out Now: A First-Look At Google’s Crowd-Sourced Film – ‘India In A Day’

By Artika Raj:

Sometime last year in October, Google put out a call for all Indians to record and send the life story of a day in their lives.

As per their own note: “India In A Day – executive-produced by Ridley Scott and Anurag Kashyap, directed by Richie Mehta and filmed by you – is that story. This first look video, which was previewed during Sundar Pichai’s keynote at Google For India, tells the stories of people whose lives are being transformed by the Internet.”

The first-look is a montage that presents snapshots of people’s colorful lives in India and what the coming of internet has done for them – from the web developer who gushes about how with his 10Mbps fibre optic connection he can now make amazing apps sitting in the comfort of his home, while he takes a quick walk around his green fields; to the jolly fellow who speaks of how India is a country of ‘brotherhood’ where one wi-fi router in one house, is shared by 5 other families!

All of this interspersed with the hustle-bustle, noisy but familiar, heartwarming chaos of that which we call home – India.

The full feature-film will be released later this year.
