We All Have A Part To Play In Human Trafficking, Watch How That Can Change

By The Storygraphers:

Human trafficking is the third biggest organised transnational crime. According to the International Labour Organisation (ILO), it generates $150 billion a year in illegal profits, with around 36 million victims. But it’s probably much worse.

Article 23 of our constitution prohibits trafficking. It doesn’t help much. Incidents of trafficking happen every day and many get killed in the process.

The impediments to fighting it are obvious – unresponsiveness, lack of political will, bureaucracy, corruption, and lack of accountability of the governing authorities; the ignorance and apathy of common people; and hypocrisy, selfishness, and false pride of development professionals.

Freedom Matters is an attempt to find an answer to the problem of human trafficking. It shows simple steps that we as individuals can take.

Made by The Storygraphers, the documentary takes you on a journey of hope and inspiration given the grave reality of the crime. It features Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Dr Kailash Satyarthi and Indian cinema actor and director Ms Kalki Koechlin among others.
