5. An Air India flight was delayed by close to 14 hours owing to a ‘technical snag’. The passengers were deplaned and sent to the terminal where there were no Air India officials to assist them. The flight finally took off after CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury boarded it, 12 hours after its scheduled departure. Passengers have blamed the airline of preferential treatment of VIPs.
