A friend asked me, “You don’t think that you are missing out on or losing something in life after surrendering to a devotional and religious life, where your principle and priority is serving others rather than yourself?”
A final year engineering student at the time, I looked at my friend and said, “No, I don’t.” I continued after a moment of thought, “Rather, I feel happy that I can be a contributor in someone else’s life. It’s a personal choice. I believe that you get a ‘living’ from what you get and a ‘life’ from what you give. I choose the latter. Regarding the losing part, I will answer you later. Give me some time.”
I came to my hostel room, opened my Mac and began typing something in a Word document. The next day, I picked up my camera and began to take candid shots of all the people who share my concept of ‘service’ and came up with this film. He was elated to see the answer. Naturally, I was delighted too!
