1. Three years after Narendra Dabholkar’s murder, the CBI has made the first arrest. Dr. Virendra Tawade is  a doctor associated with rightwing Hindu Janajagruti Samiti.

2. At least two people, including one civilian were killed due to a gas leak on INS Vikramaditya, India’s largest naval ship. Two more are said to have been injured. The incident took place at Karwar in Karnataka where the ship was undergoing maintenance.

3. Three men and a woman were arrested for the murder of a 20-year-old woman on the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway. Mahi, a bar attendant, was rushed to the hospital but declared dead on arrival.

4. Poonam Devi, newly-elected panchayat head of of Harnaut village in Nalanda district was shot dead by unknown assailants. Reports suggest that political vendetta could be the reason behind the attack.

5. Voting has begun for 27 Rajya Sabha seats in seven states. 30 candidates were elected unopposed in 8 other states.

6. The first batch of Kailash Mansarovar yatris to be flagged off by External Affairs Min. Sushma Swaraj today. The ministry has reportedly received over 1400 applications already.

7. Five men have been convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment for raping a Danish woman in 2014 in New Delhi.

8. Bombay High Court criticises Central Board Of Film Certification for censoring Udta Punjab. The final decision regarding the cuts made by the CBFC and the release of the film will be heard on Monday, June 13.
