“Alidev” is a period drama set in 1947 India getting independence and soon after that getting divided into India & Pakistan. The film follows the struggle and elation of a young orphan painter Alidev and his journey when he is forced to choose between killing a part of his name, Ali or Dev and living with the other or dying as Alidev.
The inspiration that went into the making of “Alidev” was a question I’m sure every Indian has asked themselves about – the cost of our freedom and how we misused it and even continue to do so even today using religion as a medium to achieve personal agendas.
