To all the science students out there, welcome, to my world!
High school just ended few months back and [envoke_twitter_link]I am still not able to come to terms with the world of a science student.[/envoke_twitter_link] Going for science stream in Class 12 was completely my choice, because I always wanted to be an engineer with my own selfish goals. I’ll tell you, I’ve seen a lot of rich people, out of which most are either engineers or actors. I can never become a actor and hence an engineer. Earning lots of money, having a huge house, travel around the world, like many, I want that.
You look out of the window and you’ll see people pushing each other, running towards one goal, success. Some will get there, some will fall down. And me? Well, I am the one who is sitting in the middle of the road, wondering what to do. My friends, my boyfriend, every single person I know seems to be Einstein for that matter. They know so much, starting from Stoichiometry to Viscosity. They have this knowledge about all the things. And here I am, differentiating between organic and inorganic chemistry, thinking where I missed out.
Let me tell you, to all of you who can relate with me, I know how this feels. Getting this inferiority complex, is so not a good thing. It sucks and I am dealing with it. I know how tough it gets, to see all the people around you who seem to be so smart. You’re not alone. You, me, we all are so busy thinking about others that we don’t get time to think for ourselves. [envoke_twitter_link]We are so worried about other people doing better than us[/envoke_twitter_link] that we hardly try to expand our own knowledge. I know its easy to say and hard to do. But darlings, better late then never? We start our journey from today. From this moment. [envoke_twitter_link]Science is tough, for many seventeen-year-olds.[/envoke_twitter_link] But, you’ve got to love it like nutella and keep trying hard. Forget about other people, your so-called smart friends, your extremely hardworking boyfriend and the judgmental neighbours. Because at the end of the day, it all comes down to you. No matter what kind of motivation they give, until and unless you motivate yourself, nothing will ever change. Entrances will be hard, but you’ve got to keep studying. Because, its your future you’re working towards. Your life. Make it better.
“Nothing worth having, comes easy.” It’ll be hard, but it’ll be worth it, I promise.
