What This 24-Year-Old Was Bullied For, Is His Biggest Strength Today

By Rajkanya Mahapatra

24-year-old Deepak Ramola is a man of many talents. He is an actor, a spoken word poet, a screenwriter, a lyricist, a script analyst and a life skills educator.

The key to his success lies in his voice. The voice that reaches out to hundreds and thousands of people today, the voice that inspires and teaches valuable life lessons, the same voice that he was ridiculed and bullied for, in school.

Ramola used his supposed ‘weakness’ to his strength. Today, he’s a United Nations Young Changemaker speaker, two times TEDx speaker, and a gold medallist in Mass Media Studies from the University of Mumbai. Currently, in his capacity as a life skills educator, he’s on a 90-day tour to Europe where he is taking life lessons for people affected by the recent refugee crisis.

In just about two minutes, he shall have told you how he has been an adult all his life. You will feel his pain, and probably yours too if you were bullied in school like I was. You will also know by the time the video ends – that he made it, and you can too.

Listen to Deepak’s powerful story in his own words at YKA’s flagship event, CONVERGE on November 12.
