A Republic Day Wish To India From A Kashmiri

Happy Republic Day, India. Thank you, for a wonderful 2016. Thank you for killing at least 90 people. [envoke_twitter_link]Thank you for blinding our youth[/envoke_twitter_link]. Thank you for detaining thousands of young protesters. Thank you for the pellets, communication ban, for the media gag, among other things.

Thank you for everything you’ve done for us. We are proud to be an ‘integral part’ of the world’s largest democracy.

Just because thousands of people attended the funeral of a ‘terrorist’ doesn’t mean we don’t want to be with you. Just because people gave their lives fighting your armed forces doesn’t mean we want azadi, right? That happens everywhere, right? Yes, we know. We love you. Special thanks to Mehbooba Ji, for controlling the situation bravely.

If she hadn’t been there, I don’t know how we would have survived. Please give her a medal today too. This was also the dream of Mufti sahab. Give medals to those policemen who shot us. Give a medal of honour to Rajnath, maybe. For his very important visits to Kashmir. I don’t know what would have happened to us if he didn’t come to save us on time. He is the Superman of Kashmir.

On a serious note, all of this happened just because a country had more power over the other, and hence, dominated it. Remember British rule? It happened because, ironically, apart from the youth in Kashmir, the world also looked away. And someday, it will knock on your doors too.

Until then. Happy Republic Day.
