Every New Year brings new hope, new beginnings and a whole new bunch of possibilities. Every New Year, we make resolutions for ourselves; and a few days later, we break them. Let 2017 be different. Let’s make a resolution and keep it.
Let’s take a step ahead this year and resolve to make life better for India’s children.

Why, you may ask.

Consider this…

There are 472 million children in India.
908 girls for every 1,000 boys.
80 million are out of school.
36 million are illiterate.
97 million are anaemic and undernourished.
7.5 million are differently-abled.
24 million will be out of home care by 2020.
33 million are child labourers.
12 million marry before 18 years.
Every 5 minutes there is a crime against a child.

Children comprise almost 40% of India’s population, yet receive only 4% of the entire budget. CRY – Child Rights and You has, over the years, relentlessly advocated and demanded for adequate financial provisions for children in the Union Budget.

Take a look at some of the children across India, whom we need to fight for, and ask yourself, “What can I do?”

If you think this situation needs to change, become the voice of millions of children in India by signing this petition. Help us amplify the voice of the Indian child so that it reaches the decision makers!
