I still can’t believe that I’m sharing this huge news with you all. I have received CAVINKARE ABILITY MASTERY AWARD 2017 in recognition of excellence achieved against all odds. It’s still a big dream for me. I never imagined to receive such prestigious award ever. I always wished to show all those who has shown pity upon me that Disability could not defeat Sai Kaustuv. And here my sufferings has made me super abled today. My sincere thanks to Cavincare and Ability Foundation who has given me this chance to add this glorious feather on my cap. Heartfelt gratitude to all respected Jury members and people present here. I was confined into a small room for 6 years. Life gave me two options. First was enjoying my life in comfortable zone surrounded by worldly joy. And today I have reached out to share my eternal joy. This was the second option and I chose it because I believe that, Life is a unique story. Everything is possible, nothing to worry.
Cavinkare Ability Awards are NATIONAL AWARDS that are awarded annually to individuals with disability in recognition of their extraordinary achievement in field of their choice – be it arts, film, medicine, science, industry, technology, education, community development, human rights, sports or more. The awards carry a citation, a trophy, and a cash prize of Rs.1 lakh, each.
SELECTION PROCESS FOR CAVINKARE ABILITY AWARDS starts with the screening process includes scrutiny and short listing, based on the details given in the nomination form. This is followed by site visits and reference checks by regional representatives. An eminent jury then selects the final recipients.

I have received this award for excellence in Graphic Designing, Singing, Composing and Motivational Speaking. The Award Ceremony held on 18th February at SIR MUTHA VENKATASUBBA RAO CONCERT HALL, Chennai.
Among the six eminent Jury Members, one was AISHWARYAA RAJINIKANTH DHANUSH. She is a Film Director, Author, elder daughter of great Film star RAJINIKINTH & wife of Actor DHANUSH. She was the joint Music Director of viral song “WHY THIS KOLAVERI DI” with her cousin Anirudh Ravichander (The composer of “Why This Kolaveri Di).
This was the 15th year of the awards, said Jayshree Raveendran, founder and executive director, Ability Foundation, a national cross disability umbrella organisation, adding that it has been an amazing journey that reiterated everything the organisation stood for: rights, dignity and equality. C.K. Ranganathan, chairman and managing director, CavinKare, a diversified FMCG major, said society should open up to give jobs to persons with disabilities on an equal platform. The distribution of awards was interspersed with music and dance performances by inclusive troupes and bands.

“This amazing multi-faceted young man is a #GraphicDesigner, #Singer, #Composer, #Motivationalspeaker and the author of ‘My Life, My Love, My Dear Swami’ a book that has been translated into Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Oriya, Gujarati and Hindi. Despite the limitations posed by Osteogenesis Imperfecta, and the resultant brittle bones, Sai Kaustuv radiates #positivity. He moves around using an electronic wheelchair. He executes his graphic design work flawlessly, managing with just his two mobile fingers to operate a mouse to type on a virtual on-screen keyboard. Not content still, this young man wishes to raise awareness on Accessibility across the country.”
