‘I WILL GO OUT’ SAY WOMEN FROM DELHI

Women’s safety is a growing concern in India. With incidents of women being assaulted, molested, harassed and even brutally raped being shared widely and frequently, it brings us all to a common question: Are women really safe in India?

On New Year’s eve, a tragic incident in Bangalore shook the faith of women in our country and its forces. Several women who were trying to celebrate and welcome the new year were groped and trash talked on the streets by a mob of men despite the presence of policemen.

This incident has led to a nationwide outcry by women, activists and male supporters of right to freedom. Several people are doubting the capacity of armed and police forces in protecting women. ‘I Will Go Out’ or #IWillGoOut is a movement started by women activists to claim public spaces and their right to dignity, integrity and freedom. People from all over India marched in their city to raise awareness on sexual harassment faced by women and try to put an end to it. Here are some pictures captured during the march in Delhi.
