Things You Would Relate if your creative self has been suppressed And how to deal with it!!

It is a low-key family tragedy. Jim and Maria are showing their daughter Sara , just five, how to play a brand-new video game. But as Leslie starts to play, her parents’ overly eager attempts to “help” her just seem to get in the way. Contradictory orders fly in every direction.

“To the right, to the right-stop.Stop.Stop!”Maria, the mother urges, her voice growing more intense and anxious as Sara, sucking on her lip and staring wide-eyed at the video screen, struggles to follow these directives.

“See, you are not lined up…put it to the left! To the left!” Jim, the girl’s father, brusquely orders.

Meanwhile Maria, her eyes rolling upward in frustration, yells over his advice,”Stop!Stop!”

Sara, unable to please either her father or her mother, contorts her jaw in tension and blinks as her eyes fill with tears.

Her parents start bickering, ignoring Sara’s tears.”She’s not moving that stick that much!” Maria tells Jim, exasperated.

As the tears start rolling down Sara’s cheeks, neither parents make any move that indicates they notice or care. As Sara raises her hand to wipe her eyes, her father snaps,”Okay, put your hand back on the stick…you wanna get ready to shoot.Okay, put it over!”And her mother barks,”Okay, move it just a teeny bit!”

But by now Sara is sobbing softly, alone with her anguish.

I think that allowing somebody one mere person to believe that he or she is like, the vessel, you know, like the font all divine and creative, unknowable ,eternal mystery is just a smidge too much responsibility to put on fragile, human psyche.

ITS NOT A REAL JOB..SO SURVIVE TILL ?

When I was child, my father used to give me novels to read and encourage me to write but he never spoke to me about making it profession. I too never gave a thought about it because the culture and society I lived in had only a few reputed options which did not demand me give a thought about what different I could do!!

CREATIVE MEANS NO ACADEMIC

EXCELLENCE AND HENCE NO FUTURE

Many people might have asked you this question when you were little ‘‘What do you call a nerd fifteen years from now’’.The answer “BOSS” and our mind starts revolving around being “BOSS”. IQ offers little to explain the different destinies of people with roughly equal promises, schooling and opportunity. Yet even though a high IQ is no guarantee of prosperity, prestige or happiness in life, our schools and our culture fixate on academic abilities, ignoring emotional intelligence.

FEEL GOOD ABOUT WHO YOU ARE AND

EMBRACE UNCERTAINTY !!

It is with the heart that one sees rightly what is essential is invisible to the eye. Your creative side will always cheer you up. The art of soothing ourselves is a fundamental life skill. I am currently pursuing engineering but I wouldn’t sacrifice my writing skills for that. Its high time that you stop giving thought about What other people are going to think about, Face yourself and let your unexplored side explode out. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be daunted. Just do your job. Continue to show up for your piece of it,whatever that might be If your job is to dance, do your dance. If you want to write, play, travel. Do it!!

BE OPTIMISTIC

Be optimistic and trust me even though you fall, you will come up with flying colors if not today, tomorrow and yes one day. Optimisim, like hope, means having a strong expectation that in general things will turn out all right in life, despite setbacks and frusteration. People who are optimistic see a failure as due to something that can be changed so that they can succeed next time around.

FREE YOURSELF FROM THE SHACKLES OF

QUESTIONS

WHY, WHAT,IF are the words that have also held be back at times. It’s a human nature but let these questions keep aside and start our journey towards achieving what your soul desires for. Work should not be considered load, you must search for peace into it by pursuing what you wish for.

YOU HAVE TO FIGHT FOR YOURSELF BECAUSE INTHE END DARLING, EVERYONE ELSE IS TRYING TO SAVE THEMSELVES

Many a times when I hear a successful officer or engineer complain about their parents not giving them enough chance to enhance their creative skill, I ask them one question “Have you fought enough for pursuing it ?’’

LETS BREAK THE TABOO ALTOGETHER !!

It’s a taboo set into our minds since childhood that writing, dancing, playing are not true jobs and Yes it’s a sense of worry. Worry is, in a sense a rehearsal of what might go wrong and how to deal with it, the task of worrying is to come up with positive solution for life’s perils by anticipating danger before they arise.

APPRECIATE THE EFFORTS

I have learnt that appreciation is the biggest key to success and it’s a two way thing. If you appreciate someone, you too will be appreciated and it will give you a rush of adrenaline to keep on going.

GIVE WINGS TO YOUR INNER CREATIVE SELF

AND FLY !!

Dr.T.Berry Brazelton, the eminent Harvard pediatrician, has a simple diagnostic test of a baby’s basic outlook towards life. He offers two blocks to an eight-month- old, and then shows the baby how he wants her to put blocks together. A baby who is helpful about life, who has confidence in her own abilities, says Brazelton,Will pick up one block, mouth it, rub it in hair, drop it over the side of the table, watching to see whether you will retrieve it for her. When you do, she finally completes the requested task-place the two blocks together. Then she looks up at you with a bright-eyed look of expectancy that says, “Tell me how great I am!”
