Neet Exam Age Limit Issue

NEET AGE LIMIT

New Age Limit  Rule to NEET exams shows in-capability and low-academically oriented mindset of concerned governing authorities . MCI recent response in Supreme court is “ Young have more Grasping Capability “ . It is the most annoying statement and an insult to the entire Idea of Right to Education and Prosperity.

How can a  Multiple choice question paper be a Indicator of someone Intelligence , Capability and Wisdom with regard to field of Medicine. Further MCI response says “Grasping Capability “ – So the MCI believes in Grasping Education System rather than Understanding and Practical Education System . Grasping around some loads of books will not produce Innovative and Humble Doctors. CBSE first displayed the notice of barring students who have given 3 attempts of Entrance Exam , then with lot of protest they withdraw this condition . Last Year there was a sudden change in AIPMT to NEET conversion , in 2015 AIPMT exam was cancelled and again Conducted . Several State exams were being either re-conducted or cancelled due to either corruption or administrative reasons . Giving Medical Entrance exams is becoming tough due to rising factors such as Rising Candidates applying and number of Seats Ratio . MCI giving the argument that to make this Ratio reasonable we should allow only young students is in-fact a real check to Government own bad-policy  and inability to improve this Ratio .

Several Studies shows that taking medicine as a career after you have graduated in other subject makes you a better doctor.Link (https://www.theguardian.com/education/2014/nov/12/studying-medicine-postgraduate-could-make-better-doctor) . People enter medicine in various stages of their professional career. Some Graduate , post graduate or after +2 . No age bar rule has been for years and stopping it in immediate  step is clear cut non-logic and is certainly not legal . 85% quota for candidates above age 25 is a right under Indian laws , to change the law it must be passed in respective assembly . CBSE cannot change the law just by itself on the recommendation of a UGC committee.

Government can’t stop Student to take up Medicine as a Career option just because of age issue . In-fact considering age issue , previously if two or more students  score same marks  then the one with more age is given preference. So here the government was taking more aged students as wise than their juniors , now the situation is totally reversed .

The Case for NEET upper age limit is currently in Supreme court and its decision will impact thousands of students . But we hope that Supreme court understand this matter and remove age cap to motivate students to take up medicine as a career.
