Places near Delhi

Delhi, India’s capital territory, is a massive metropolitan area in the country’s north. In Old Delhi, a neighborhood dating to the 1600s, stands the imposing Mughal-era Red Fort, a symbol of India, and the sprawling Jama Masjid mosque, whose courtyard accommodates 25,000 people. Nearby is Chandni Chowk, a vibrant bazaar filled with food carts, sweets shops and spice stalls. Barsana is among well known tourist places near Delhi, best visited during Holi festival. Barsana is surrounded by hills from four sides and this place was earlier named Brahmsarin. The Jantar Mantar is among the best places to visit in Delhi and is a great place for astronomy lovers. Jantar Mantar, also known as the Delhi Observatory was built in 1724 AD.
