Join The Conversation On Women’s Day

some members of the Self Help Group that helped build the toilets in Mandapathar.

Women have historically been subject to discrimination and violence and even in 2017, there are laws that do not recognise this. Sexual harassment and violence are harsh realities we’re living with, along with sexism at work and at home.

This International Women’s Day (8th of March), we’d like to invite you to start conversations on how we can achieve a gender equal society – and write about it on YKA.

If you are interested in writing, here are some prompts to help you get started:

1. Do you have a personal experience with gender-based violence, sexism or misogyny – or inequality because of your gender?
2. Would you like to present proposed policy reforms or solutions?
3. Would you like to write about what families, friends, workspaces and partners can do to ensure gender parity around them?

Go ahead and publish your story by logging in here. Use #WomensDay.

We’ll be curating the best stories on the homepage and a dedicated vertical for the International Women’s Day. Let’s bring about a change and impact mindsets.
