Betrayal Day

The indefinite hunger strike organised by All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU) was called off after the Govt of India promised to held a political level tripartite talk before 13th April, 2017 but as usual, once again the Govt harshly showed negligence to the given word due to which on this day today, 13th April 2017 the ABSU, NDFB (P) and PJACBM unitedly organised a protest event titling as “BETRAYAL DAY” whole through Assam and Boro mainland (BTAD).

The senior leaders of NDFB and ABSU, Biswanath District says that they’ve been neglected the same way since last 3 decades and it’s time the Boro people really take a serious note to fight for the dignity and honor of oneself and community. Adding, the united body has given a clear word to Govt of India that if the Govt fails to organize a political level tripartite talk by 14th April, they shall go for more stronger movement calling bandhs for weeks! On a serious note, today a senior leader of NDFB (P) almost cried while giving speech telling story how they’ve been treated and that the sacrifice of comrades for the dream called BOROLAND needs to be attained soon. He has also called the youth, the budding up generation of Boro community to stand up and come together for the cause and take part in movement of making the BOROLAND dream a reality.

Myself, being a part of the activity today which was organised beside GOHPUR BORO SCHOOL, Gohpur of Biswanath District, Assam felt the pain and could realize how much important is the statehood right now for us. Growing up in a family that has lost it’s sons for the BOROLAND MOVEMENT, I always felt the pain and need in personal level but after being part of such activities and active member of student bodies now can merge the same for common, the entire community. THE MOTHER BORO has lost its sons and daughters and now it’s our responsibility to fight for our rights and live life being BORO with DIGNITY & HONOR.
