“Without A Mask, It Can Happen To Anyone”: This TB Survivor’s Tale Is A Warning For Us All

Without a mask, it can happen to anyone.

A student at JJ School of Arts in Mumbai and a freelance commercial photographer, Manasi was diagnosed with Extensively Drug Resistant TB (XDR-TB) at the age of 19. Having braved one of the toughest forms of TB strains, Manasi relates her story of determination and the will to fight and defeat TB in a patriarchal society through these photos:

Her story can be found in the book “Nine Lives – Women and Tuberculosis in India” by Zarah Udwadia and Chapal Mehra – published as part of the Survivors Against TB (SATB) campaign.
