My Parents Does Not Feel Hostels Are Safe”

Today in the 21st century, many schemes of India have made it possible for basic education to reach to the rural areas. But studies after 12th is still a major issue. In rural areas schools are available till 10th or 12th but for further studies kids are sent to hostels. For a boy parents feel a best option is hostel, but for a girl hostels are not safe is the belief of the people in rural areas.
Yesterday I visited a village, there I met my cousin sister. She passed her 12th last year. I asked her “why u r not doing further studies? ” to which she replied “I want to do further studies, but my parents feel hostels are not safe and they feel I should just look after the work at home that’s all.”
Due to lack of colleges and universities in rural areas, girls are being educated but are not allowed for further studies. There is lot of talent in India but due to such reasons the talents are hidden under a roof and then it is murdered when they get married. We need such talents which are rooted in the rural India to  flourish and should stop wasting such talents.
Making a universities in rural India is difficult as many people may not opt for it. But I think there should also be a solution for this problem.
