Religious bigotry is dominating our headlines, and we are being increasingly defined by which God we worship, what we eat, and what traditions we hold close to our hearts. Even in 2017, kids are told to not be friends with people from other religions, inter-caste marriages are a big no-no and honour killings are a harsh reality. We have linked our identities to religion to such an extent, that we’ve created a suffocating atmosphere for ourselves.
