Sampark Foundation to train 1,00,000 teachers in 100 days

Noida, India, April 10th, 2017: Sampark Foundation, an initiative by Vineet Nayar, Former CEO of HCL Technologies Ltd. and his wife Anupama Nayar flagged off the implementation of Sampark Smart Shala Traning Programfor government primary school teachers in Chhattisgarh & Uttarakhand.

The 100-day training program commencing in Chhattisgarh today will see 30 training teams spread across different districts of Chhattisgarh and Uttarakhand in the coming months. The teams will be training over 1 lakh government primary school teachers in these states from April to July, making it one of the largest teacher training program by a private foundation

With an investment of INR 60 crores in Chhattisgarh and INR 40 crores in Uttarakhand from Sampark Foundation, the Sampark Smart Shala Program has been successfully implemented in more than 50,000 primary government schools with 30 Lakh children. After a year of implementation, the Program ensures over 80% of children are able to do basic Maths operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and use 500 new words to speak and write in English.

 Vineet Nayar, Founder Chairman, Sampark Foundation said, “We started off solving the problem of how to improve learning outcomes in our public schools by overcoming teachers’ discomfort in teaching English and Math. Today, this thought has become a movement, with Sampark Smart Shala being readily accepted in Uttarakhand and Chhattisgarh. I wish the training teams all the success for this mammoth task they are about to undertake.

In 2017-18, Sampark Foundation is going to focus on 1) Training of over 1,00,000 teachers on Sampark Smart Shala Program 2) Distribute over 50,000 Sampark Smart Shala English kits 3) Monitor progress of 30 lakh children on a monthly  basis through “Sampark Smart Class App” 4) Create an Education Quality resource group for Mathematics and English at the Block, District and State level to focus on improving learning outcomes in primary government schools through Sampark Foundation Master Trainers located in each district alongside the state government leadership team.
