Teenager’s Dipression

Life is like a roller-coaster; It has many ups and downs, But it’s your choice to either scream or enjoy the ride. Isn’t it?.

                                                   Teenage Phase

Teenage phase is a time of rapid change for kids both physically and cognitively. Teens face countless teen problems and challenges. They deal with lot of emotional highs and lows. One minute they might feel great, and the next moment, they are depressed. These kinds of mood swings are common teenage problems. Teenage is the time where parents need to lay a strong foundation in their kid’s life. This of course needs to be done patiently and skillfully. With a relatively civilized approach, you can troubleshoot the following teenage behavior problems in the right direction.

Dipression  is the most common mental health problem faced by teenagers which may sometimes lead to suicide. Teenagers can’t differentiate sadness and depression. Many factors can lead to depression and the reaction of each teen is different to such things.It constantly keeps throwing challenges at you, as a child, teenage, parents or adults no matter what phase of the life cycle you are in. You indeed have lot many problems to deal with. Similarly teenagers problems are something you just cannot ignore. Honestly, no one has ever pretended that parenting is easy especially when your kids are in their teens and their teen problems. You can stay positive with the belief that your teenager will never answer you back, throw tantrums, stay out too late or have a pierced and tattooed body.

A student passed high school get admission at +2 level or university level. He got the extremely changes is surroundings and people. Most of the possiblities students are to be away from home and staying in hostel there, he will get various type of students and new environment, some of the students are always keep touching with family and relatives while some students trying to  keep distance with known and get atteracted with new people and involving in various types of activities without any concent and post/future results. The time come to know the results it was very late and got frustrated.

Todays college life has a common thing to be a relationship, a broad friend circle, huge group of students, the main story of dipression comes from here.

There students, get  two ways of pressure. One is the Expectations from the family and another is two set up the college group. In this setuation parents should be very active in early days of hosteler students and keep touching continuously.

Recognizing the Teenager’s setuation: Teenager depression is increasing at an alarming rate. Recent surveys indicate that as many as one in five teens suffers from clinical depression. This is a serious problem that calls for prompt, appropriate treatment.Depression can be difficult to diagnose in teens because adults may expect teens to act moody. Also, adolescents do not always understand or express their feelings very well. They may not be aware of the symptoms of depression and may not seek help.

These symptoms may indicate depression, particularly when they last for more than two weeks:

Treating Teenager’s Depression:It is extremely important that depressed teens receive prompt, professional treatment.Depression is serious and, if left untreated, can worsen to the point of becoming life-threatening. If depressed teens refuse treatment, it may be necessary for family members or other concerned adults to seek professional advice.Therapy and  Family Motivation can help teens understand why they are depressed and learn how to cope with stressful situations. Depending on the situation, treatment may consist of individual, group or family counseling. Medications that can be prescribed by a psychiatrist may be necessary to help teens feel better.

Some of the most common and effective ways to treat depression in adolescents are:

Psychotherapy provides teens an opportunity to explore events and feelings that are painful or troubling to them. Psychotherapy also teaches them coping skills.

Cognitive-behavioral therapy helps teens change negative patterns of thinking and behaving.

Interpersonal therapy focuses on how to develop healthier relationships at home and at school.

Medication relieves some symptoms of depression and is often prescribed along with therapy.

When depressed adolescents recognize the need for help, they have taken a major step toward recovery. However, remember that few Teenager seek help on their own. They may need encouragement from their family friends and support from concerned adults to seek help and follow treatment recommendations.
