An Essence Of Cinema

Having remained an ‘aspiring’ filmmaker since a long, long time, I finally took up the challenge and stepped into the area of my passion and made my first short film, under the guidance of Institute of Moving Images.

An essence of cinema is a tribute to Lumiere brothers, the founders of cinema and has been made in a single shot. After garnering appreciation from all those who watched the 1 minute 36 seconds film, I am sharing the link on Youth ki Aawaz.

Also sharing the poem that is used in the film, and written by my brother Apoorv Pandey –

“The universe and everything within,
At love’s behest, turns bright and soothing.
Until treachery begins to scribble,
the ugly saga from betrothal to betrayal.
But there are pettier crimes yet,
in every crowd lurk many a pickpocket.
Alas! For the knave fraternity,
Painful punishment awaits the incompetent, and the less crafty.
Hopeless he may be and facing the law’s flak,
The universe seems faintly to smile again – when his head rests on his mother’s lap.
Different emotions, diverse subjects, distinct lives – An incredible mixture,
Seldom captured more flawlessly than in the motion picture.”
