Irshad Hijazi a Kashmiri boy has made it to enter into the bollywood as a film maker. Born in 1992 in a remote village Bramri of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, Hijazi went to pursue his maters in mass communication in a college in Dehradun.
While studying he got an idea to make a movie, but it was not possible without the proper equipment for making it. He discussed the idea with his teacher but it seems more like a joke to them as the guy was not technically that much sound.
Later he discussed the idea with his friends and made the movie with the help of Debanjali Barman Roy and Asif Ahmed. After completing movie “The Casterror”, Hijazi realized that how talents are sinked due to financial crises.
Hijazi thought that he will establish a company for the promotion of poor people, who do excel in different fields. He started a film company with the help of his friends “Dia Motion Pictures” now a biggest film brand in Dehradun. But it was not enough, he started training students in mass communication, video editing, acting and film direction.
Hijazi worked as an assistant professor at number of institutions in India. He had released five hindi albums and a movie. Nowadays he is busy in shooting of his new film “A C I D” a real story based on an acid victim.
While talking to media in Dehradun, he said;
“KASHMIR IS ENRICHED WITH TALENT BUT NEED OF THE HOUR IS TO REALIZE IT” ADDING THAT , “I HAVE A DREAM TO ESTABLISH THAT STAGE WHERE TALENT CAN BE PROMOTED WITHOUT DISCRIMINATION”.
Irshad Hijazi is the author of two books based on media and ethics of journalism. Belonging to poor family, he said he never felt that he is from a poor family. He said;
“IF A PERSON HAS DESIRE TO DO ANYTHING HE CAN. I AM ALWAYS READY TO PROMOTE THE TALENT FROM KASHMIR. THERE ARE AROUND 20000 PEOPLE DIRECTLY AND INDIRECTLY ASSOCIATED WITH MY COMPANY”.
