You all know and respect various doctors and engineers (the most popular professions among Indian parents) and admire their success but have you ever asked them how much they scored in their 10th and 12th standard exams? You admire many great personalities, does it matter how much they scored in their exams? Obviously, it’s a big ‘no’. Neither you, nor your instigating relatives ever judge them on the basis of the marks they scored because they are doing well in their professional lives.
Now if you have got a little sense of satisfaction, I would like to unveil the reality a bit more. I know many of you might have started predicting negative futures for yourselves but believe me, it isn’t necessary that now your life is all dark. It’s just a night. Soon the sun will rise and shine again.
Just have a look around. The world though competitive, doesn’t depend on marks at all. I’ve seen people scoring above 90% and then dropping year after year to get their desired field and on the other hand, there are people with average marks who are excelling in their lives and striding towards success.
What else, the relatives creating nuisance? No need to worry about the comments of those relatives, who never offered any help in your studies, never wished you good luck, never supported you in your ups and downs and are now poking from everywhere to uselessly criticize your grades.
Reappearing in a subject? Ya, it’s something harder to cope up with but it doesn’t mean that you are a failure. Yes, you read it right and I really mean it. You still have a lot to achieve. What others think about you is not that important. It is what you think about yourself that holds the key. Believe in yourself, know and acknowledge your strengths.
Rightly said by Albert Einstein “Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it’ll spend its whole life believing that it is stupid”. So now I hope that you understood my point. That’s exactly what I’m talking about. Everyone is good at something more valuable than studies. Focus on those long term goals and don’t let the small hurdles discourage you. Find that special talent hidden right there inside you and nurture your talent to do something big. Try to go for something which makes you feel happy and satisfied.
After all, life is just like a roller coaster ride. It is all about ups and downs but remember that downs are always followed by ups.
So, now it’s time to think out of the box and fight these feelings of disappointment and discouragement. I really hope that now you have got enough courage to wipe your tears and not only to face the situation but also to change it. And if you are still sobbing for your marks then all I can say is that you are a product of your hard work not your marks. So just stay calm and determined and take a pledge to leave those wagging tongues jaw dropped one day.
