Immersed in melody, spell bound by cogent metaphors subsist in diverse life culture I bethought to align the essence of my learning and explorations with my work pursuance, thus began an integrated creative practice encompassing Visual Art, Craft, Installation, Poetry, Performance Art and Film.

Ashish: What inspires you to put your energy into art?
Darshan Singh Grewal: For me, Art is a medium and a process of exploring “self” through dynamic observations, experiences, experimentation and flow of practice.

This exploration is my inspiration.

Ashish: What materials do you use in your artworks?
Darshan Singh Grewal: I do experiments in creating my artwork and I like working with mixed media.

Ashish: Who is/are your favorite artist(s)? And why?
Darshan Singh Grewal:
Andy Goldsworthy, because his ways of working with natural materials to create artwork inspire me a lot. I love creation that stays and naturally decays with time.

Ashish: How do you see the economics of art in India?
Darshan Singh Grewal: I don’t know. I have never explored and analyzed this.
