National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on behalf of University Grants Commission (UGC).

CBSE UGC NET is a national level exam conducted two times in a year i.e. in January and July month to determine the eligibility of Indian candidates for Junior Research Fellowship and for Assistant Professor or for both.

Difference between CSIR NET & CBSE UGC NET

Many students have same doubt “How the CSIR UGC NET EXAM is different from the CBSE UGC NET EXAM?” get your answer here-

CSIR and UGC are two different governmental departments and both conduct their respective NET entrance exam. The former is conducted for the Science stream, whereas the latter is conducted for all the other streams called as CBSE UGC NET.

CSIR NET exam is an exam which checks the eligibility of the candidates to apply for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) or Lectureship (LS). The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research, conducts the Joint CSIR UGC NET exam in the field of science. Candidates having or pursuing their Master’s degree in Science Stream are only eligible for CSIR NET Exam.

CSIR NET can be done in the following 5 subjects:
